Yet another saga of real love.. Submitted by our member - Shri Venugopal

From the very beginning, girl's family objected strongly on her dating this guy, saying that it has got to do with family background, & that the girl will have to suffer for the rest of her life if she were to be with him.

Due to family's pressure, the couple quarreled very often. Though the girl loved the guy deeply, she always asked him: "How deep is yourlove for me?" As the guy is not good with his words, this often causedthe girl to be very upset. With that & the family's pressure, the girl often vents her anger on him. As for him, he only endured it in silence.
After a couple of years, the guy finally graduated & decided tofurther his studies overseas. Before leaving, he proposed to thegirl:"I'm not very good with words. But all I know is that I love you.If you allow me, I will take care of you for the rest of my life. Asfor your family, I'll try my best to talk them round. Will you marry me?" The girl agreed, & with the guy's determination, the family finally gave in & agreed to let them get married. So before he left, they got engaged. The girl went out to the working society, whereas the guy was overseas, continuing his studies. They sent their love through emails & phone calls. Though it was hard, but both never thought of giving up.
One day, while the girl was on her way to work, she was knockeddown by a car that lost control. when she woke up, she saw her parentsbeside her bed. She realized that she was badly injured. Seeing her mum crying, she wanted to comfort her. But she realized that all that could come out of her mouth was just a sigh. she had lost he rvoice....The doctor says that the impact on her brain has caused her to lose her voice. Listening to her parents' comfort, but with nothing coming out from her, she broke down. During the stay in hospital, besidessilence cry,. it’s still just silence cry that accompanied her.Upon reaching home, everything seems to be the same. Except for the ringing tone of the phone. This pierced into her heart every time it rang.
She does not wish to let the guy know & not wanting to be a burden to him, she wrote a letter to him saying that she does not wish to wait any longer. With that, she sent the ring back to him. In return, the guy sent millions & millions of reply, countless of phone calls,. . all the girl could do, besides crying, is still crying.... The parents decided to move away, hoping that she could eventually forget everything & be happy.
With a new environment, the girl learns sign language & started anew life. Telling herself everyday that she must forget the guy. One day, her friend came & told her that he's back. She asked her friend not to let him know what happened to her. Since then, there wasn’t any more news of him.

A year has passed & her friend came with an envelope, containing a invitation card for the guy's wedding. The girl was shattered. When she open the letter, she saw her name in it instead. When she was about to ask her friend what's going on, she saw the guy standing in front of her.

He used sign language to tell her "I've spent a year to learn sign language. Just to let you know that I've not forgotten our promise.Let me have the chance to be your voice. I Love You." With that, he slipped the ring back into her finger. The girl finally smiled.

A touching story of real love...(Submitted by Shri Venugopal)

Nurse: "It was a busy morning, approximately 8:30 am , when an elderly gentleman, in his 80's, presented to have sutures (stitches) removed from his thumb.
He stated that he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 am . I (nurse) took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would to able to see him.
I saw him looking at his watch and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound. On exam it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound. While taking care of his wound, we began to engage in conversation.
Asked him if he had a doctor's appointment this morning somewhere else, as he was in such a hurry. The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife.
I then inquired as to her health. He told me that she had been there for a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer Disease.
As we talked, and I finished dressing his wound,I asked if she would be worried if he was a bit late. He replied that she no longer knew who he was, that she had not recognized him in five years now.
I was surprised, and asked him. "And you are still going every morning, even though she doesn't know who you are?" He smiled as he patted my hand and said. "She doesn't know me, but I still know who she is.
"I had to hold back tears as he left, I had goose bumps on my arm, and thought, "That is the kind of love I want in my life."

Why wedding ring should be worn on the 4th finger ? ...(Submitted by Muktha Radhakrishnan)

Why should the wedding ring be worn on the fourth finger?

There is a beautiful and convincing explanation given by the Chinese.......

Thumb represents your Parents
Second (Index) finger represents your Siblings
Middle finger represents your-Self
Fourth (Ring) finger represents your Life Partner &
the Last (Little) finger represents your children

Firstly, open your palms (face to face), bend the middle fingers and hold them together - back to back Secondly, open and hold the remaining three fingers and the thumb - tip to tip (As shown in the figure below):

Now, try to separate your thumbs (representing the parents)...,
they will open, because your parents are not destined to live with you lifelong, and have to leave you sooner or later.
Please join your thumbs as before and separate your Index fingers (representing siblings)... .,
they will also open, because your brothers and sisters will have their own families and will have to lead their own separate lives.
Now join the Index fingers and separate your Little fingers (representing your children)... .,
they will open too, because the children also will get married and settle down on their own some day.
Finally, join your Little fingers, and try to separate your Ring fingers (representing your spouse).
You will be surprised to see that you just CANNOT....., because Husband & Wife have to remain together all their lives - through thick and thin!!

A tribute to our TEACHERS...

WHAT TEACHERS MAKE

The dinner guests were sitting around the table discussing life.
One man, a CEO, decided to explain the problem with education.
He argued, "What's a kid going to learn from someone who decided hisbest option in life was to become a teacher?"He reminded the other dinner guests what they say about teachers:"Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach."To stress his point he said to another guest; "You're a teacher,Bonnie. Be honest. What do you make?"
Bonnie, who had a reputation for honesty and frankness replied,"You want to know what I make? (She paused for a second, then began...)
"Well, I make kids work harder than they ever thought they could.I make a C+ feel like the Congressional Medal of Honor.I make kids sit through 40 minutes of class time when their parentscan't make them sit for 5 without an I Pod, Game Cube or movierental...You want to know what I make?"
(She paused again and looked at each and every person at the table.)
I make kids wonder.I make them question.I make them criticize.
I make them apologize and mean it.
I make them have respect and take responsibility for their actions.
I teach them to write and then I make them write.I make them read, read, read.
I make them show all their work in math.
I make my students from other countries learn everything they needto know in English while preserving their unique cultural identity.
I make my classroom a place where all my students feel safe.
Finally, I make them understand that if they use the gifts they were given, work hard, and follow their hearts, they can succeed in life.
Bonnie paused one last time and then continued.)"Then, when people try to judge me by what I make, I can hold my headup high and pay no attention because they are ignorant...You want to know what I make?I MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
What do you make?"THIS IS WORTH SENDING TO EVERY TEACHER YOU KNOW.(And everyone on your mailing list, for that matter).T
HERE IS MUCH TRUTH IN THIS STATEMENT:"Teachers make every other profession"Take a few moments of your time that you consider so precious and thank your teachers for what you are today.

SMILE... (by Muktha Radhakrishnan)

SMILE

A smile is the light in your window that tells others that there is a caring, sharing person inside.

Life is short but a smile takes barely a second.

Every tear has a smile behind it.

A smile is a curve that sets everything straight.

A good neighbor is a fellow who smiles at you over the back fence, but doesn't climb over it.

If you see a friend without a smile; give him one of yours.

A smile starts on the lips, A grin spreads to the eyes, A chuckle comes from the belly; But a good laugh bursts forth from the soul, Overflows, and bubbles all around

Because of your smile, you make life more beautiful.

Too often we underestimate the power of a smile, which have the potential to turn a life around.

Smiles are the language of love.

The real man smiles in trouble, gathers strength from distress, and grows brave by reflection.

A smile is an inexpensive way to change your looks

All people smile in the same language.

Children smile on the average 400 times/day; Adults: 15 times/day... Ever wonder why?

A warm smile is the universal language of kindness.

If I thought that a smile of mine, might linger the whole day through and lighten some heart with a heavier part, I'd not withhold it -- Would you? ??

Treasure Every Moment....

Treasure every moment that you have. And treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time.
Remember that time waits for no one. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow a mystery. Today is a gift... That's why it's called the present.

Words....

Words.
They are all around us.
We see them.
We use them.
Some are harsh words...
Some are soothing words . . .
Some are biting words.

Words can give pain and sorrow;
Words can give joy and pleasure.

They are vital for all communication.

When words are spoken there are going to be reactions. . .
Negative or positive. Either thoughts are triggered
Or emotions fired, or actions performed.

Words color my behavior.

How lovely it is to hear words that are
Calm and free from rancor and aggression . . .
To hear words that lift the soul,
And leave it with renewed vigor and the
Strength to face what is before us.

Such words are the sparks of purity.

It is important to remember
That speech indicates what is in my mind.
As I think, so my words are uttered.

Mental calmness makes for calm words.
A pure mind makes for pure words.

It has been said that "Speech may exalt someone
To kingship or send him to the gallows."

I can not let myself indulge in false,
Bitter and vicious speech.
I want my words to reflect my inner, spiritual nature,
Which hopefully is one of purity and peace.

Words, once spoken, can never be recalled.
They reverberate all around, and
Go places beyond our control.

Today, when I utter words, I want to try to think of
What effect will they have on those who hear them.

Will they be the words that are poisonous and cause pain?

My tongue could be like that of a nightingale . . .
Sweet, very soothing and lovely to the ear.
It is my choice. Which will I chose to use?

The Juggler in the circus...(nice story with a message)

Various programmes were going on at a circus.
A juggler started doing his performance. As he went on to perform more and more difficult tricks, the excitement started to rise from among the audience.
At last, he came to the most difficult of the tricks where he had to basket a ball on a 12 feet pole attached to the plate that he was holding with his legs, while lying on his back. The awe struck audience began to applaud, anticipating a perfect basket. For a split second, the juggler thought about the loud applause that he would get after the successful performance. The concentration wavered and down came the ball with a thud which was followed by a long oooh…from the audience.
Had the juggler had kept his concentration intact on the trick instead of anticipating the applause of the audience, he would have definitely succeeded in his performance.Let us think for a while. Do we too perform to get appreciation or let appreciation come as a result of good performance ?
What is the moral of the story ?
Let us focus ourselves on doing the job rather than wondering about the results.
The results will be always fantastic
